National Safety Day is observed on March 4 annually with an in aim to promote safe working environment and ensure safety of people in all aspects.

National Safety Day 2023:
Every year on March 4th, National Safety Day is celebrated to encourage a secure work environment and ensure the safety of individuals in all domains. The objective of National Safety Day 2023 is to increase awareness of safety procedures and protocols to prevent any unfortunate incidents. The program is broad, inclusive, and adaptable, urging participating organizations to create specific activities according to their safety needs. This year will signify the beginning of the 52nd National Safety Day.
National Safety Day 2023: Theme
The National Safety Council of India (NSC) announces the theme for the 2023 National Safety Day as 'Our Aim - Zero Harm'. Each year, the NSC sets the theme for the National Safety Day and encourages organizations to take the lead in promoting industrial safety and educating people about it.
National Safety Day: Significance
This event offers a chance to emphasize the significance of safety measures and precautions in preventing accidents. The primary objective is to expand the reach of the Safe, Health, and Environment (SHE) movement. Furthermore, the day aims to unite stakeholders from diverse industrial sectors and motivate their involvement in the SHE movement. It also strives to encourage SHE activities and remind employees, employers, and all concerned parties to take necessary measures towards ensuring a safer workplace.
National Safety Day: Objectives
- To extend the Safe, Health, and Environment (SHE) movement to various regions of the country.
- To secure the participation of major players in various industrial sectors at varying levels.
- To encourage employers to adopt a participatory approach by engaging their employees in SHE activities.
- To encourage the creation of activities based on specific needs, self-compliance with legal requirements, and professional management systems for Safe, Health, and Environment (SHE) in workplaces.
- To include sectors that have not been legally covered into the voluntary Safe, Health, and Environment (SHE) movement.
- To emphasize the responsibility of employers, employees, and other stakeholders in ensuring a safer workplace.
National Safety Day: History
The first Conference on Industrial Safety was convened by the Ministry of Labour and Employment of the Government of India in 1965. The event was held from December 11 to December 13 in partnership with employers' organizations, state governments, and other trade unions and institutions. During the conference, the participants recognized the necessity of establishing National and State Safety Councils.
During the 24th session of the Standing Labour Committee in February 1966, the suggestion for establishing a National Safety Council (NSC) was approved. The Ministry of Labour then established the NSC on March 4 of the same year. Initially, it was registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, and later as a public trust under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950.
In 1971, the National Safety Day was inaugurated to commemorate the establishment of the National Safety Council and promote safety awareness.

India celebrates National Security Day on March 4 every year. Rashtriya Suraksha Diwas is another name for it, and it is a holiday honouring the Indian Security Forces.

National Security Day: History
The concept of National Safety Day or National Security Day was introduced in 1972 and has been organized annually ever since. The National Safety Council (NSC) is responsible for managing the event every year. The Ministry of Labour established the Safety Council on March 4, 1966, with the aim of fostering a sustainable Safety, Health and Environment movement.
President Murmu inaugurates 7th International Dharma Dhamma Conference
President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Seventh International Dharma Dhamma Conference, organised by the India Foundation in collaboration with the Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies.

The 7th International Dharma Dhamma Conference 2023 was inaugurated in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh by President Droupadi Murmu. Representatives from more than 15 countries are expected to participate in the three-day conference.
Theme of The 7th International Dharma Dhamma Conference:
In collaboration with the Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies, the 7th edition of the conference is themed "Eastern Humanism for the New Era." The Vice Chancellor of the university, Dr. Neerja Gupta, also joined President Murmu at the conference.
India Foundation: Organiser of The 7th International Dharma Dhamma Conference:
The India Foundation, which is the organizer of this conference, describes the Dharma Dhamma traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism as an approach towards environment, holistic healthcare, human-centered development, and the preservation of human dignity.
India Foundation is an independent think-tank based in New Delhi that concentrates on analyzing the issues, challenges, and opportunities related to Indian politics.
Aim of The 7th International Dharma Dhamma Conference:
The objective of the conference is to gather leaders from various religious, political, and philosophical backgrounds of Dharma Dhamma traditions to discuss and create a philosophical framework that can be applied to the new world order.

The 7th edition of the Dharma Dhamma Conference in Madhya Pradesh has attracted international participation, with representatives from countries such as Bali, Indonesia, Thailand, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Royal Government of Bhutan invited as delegates and speakers.
About The first International Dharma-Dhamma Conference:
The inaugural International Dharma-Dhamma Conference was held on September 22-23, 2012, at Sanchi University in Madhya Pradesh. Recently, the 6th edition of the conference was organized from November 7-9, 2021, at Nalanda University in Rajgir, located in Bihar's Nalanda district.
